A Manjaa is the traditional woven bed used throughout East Asia. It consists of a wooden frame bordering a set of knotted ropes. Traditionally the user would lie directly on top of the ropes without an intervening mattress. We handcraft the Manjaa by tying a series of knots at the corner of the wooden frame and then interweave a traditional pattern. The charpoy is used indoor, outdoors, and sometimes-on rooftops and is an important part of its people's lifestyle. It is used as a bed as well as a chair where guests are invited to sit on.
